Land use in this area is controlled by a bend of the river located towards the east of the image. From the west, paddy fields extend radially, their long axes running downslope towards the river. The majority of the fields are bare though a limited number of fields towards the west are under crop with careful irrigation. Two canals with roads on their banks curve round the river, one on each side. The village (an assemblage of brightly-coloured houses, fruit and shade trees, and several farming plots) has spread in the curved land between the canals, necessitating a number of small bridges over both canals and the river. Agricultural fields start again towards the east beyond the far canal.
