This enlarged image of part of the well-developed coral reefs off northeast Sabah displays remarkable morphological variations. A number of mounds and lines of reefs appear to rise steeply to various heights from a shared base. Clusters of boats are seen in the channels among the reefs, probably occupied in fishing. This area off the coast of northeast Sabah is rich in marine biodiversity and has the potential to be a huge tourist attraction. Towards the northwest, structures seen in the middle of the boat passage seem to be piers and a lighthouse.
