PM 2.5 Forecast Maps

CRISP PM2.5 (smoke/haze) 48 hours forecast is generated using a customized version of WRF-Chem V. 4.2. The WRF-Chem model meteorological fields are driven by the Global Forecast System (GFS) of the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP). All antrophogenic emissions are treated under the MOZART_MOSAIC chemical mechanism coupled to MOSAIC 4-bin sectional aerosol scheme. Global antrophogenic emissions are from EDGAR-HTAP emissions (EDGARv5.0 emission inventory) and the fire emissions inventory is based on the Fire Inventory from NCAR (FINN). Model is run every other day to provide a 48-Hour ahead forecast of regional PM2.5 concentrations (smoke/haze). Model is in the experimental phase hence no warranties are implied and its use is recommended for academic purposes only.
