  • List of Educational Projects in NASA's Public use of Remote Sensing Data program
  • Geography from Space - National Air and Space Museum, Smithonian Institution.
  • GLOBE - Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment. A worldwide network of students, teachers, and scientists working together to study and understand the global environment.
  • NASA EOS
  • SIR-C Education Program
  • Virtual Nebraska - The consortium for the application of space data to education. Includes NAPP photography of various cities, space shuttle photography, real-time AVHRR and GOES imagery, a remote sensing tutorial and two applications of remote sensing.
  • JEI - Joint Education Initiative, an NSF-funded science-education project at the University of Maryland at College Park. Begun in 1990 at the USGS, in cooperation with NASA and NOAA, JEI is an interface between the Government, Academic, and Industrial Science Communities and the K-12 Education Environment. The philosophy behind JEI is that the best way to learn science is by actually doing science -- delivering to the student and teacher the actual scientific data sets being used to address contemporary problems.
  • Boreal Forest Watch - An educational outreach program for the Boreal Ecosystem-Atmosphere Study (BOREAS), involves 9-12 graders in conducting real research as part of their educational experience.
