| Myitkyina, the capital town of Kachin state, lies near the top edge of the above image, on the western bank of the Irrawaddy river. The northern m0st railway terminal of Myanmar is located in this town. About 25 miles to the north of Myitkyina is Myit Sone, the confluence of Maikha and Malikha streams. This confluence is the source of Irrawaddy, the chief river of Myanmar. |
